Everything Shown at Summer Game Fest 2022

Even with E3 absent this year, we've got quite a number of surprises and trailers at this year's Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley. Here's everything announced.


Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent is a squad-based shooter based on James Cameron’s seminal series of sci-fi horror films. So far, the cinematic trailer only reveals fan-familiar Xenomorphs and a new unknown enemy. The game is set for release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in 2023.


The Callisto Protocol

We've seen the trailer of The Callisto Protocol at State of Play and at Summer Game Fest, we're given a closer look at the gameplay. The gameplay has a very strong Dead Space horror style with goopy monsters, a plasma cutter-like weapon, and gruesome death animations, as members of Striking Distance Studios worked on the original Dead Space. the Callisto Protocol will come out on 2 December.


Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

In the video, Developer Infinity Ward shows us a part of the first campaign level. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is scheduled to be released on 28 October.


Flashback 2

Flashback is finally back with a sequel since it was released back in 1992. The sequel is developed by French studio Microids and will come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch this winter.


Fort Solis

Voice actor Troy Baker and Red Dead Redemption 2's Roger Clark (as Arthur Morgan) will be lending their voices to Fort Solis, a fast-paced narrative game set on a remote Martian mining outpost. Fort Solis will be available on Steam.


Routine

After getting delayed year after year since it first appeared in 2012, Routine finally gets a new trailer, revealing that it's planned for PC, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass, although an exact date is still unknown.


Stormgate

Stormgate is the first game developed by Frost Giant Studios, a new studio founded by former Blizzard veterans. It's a real-time strategy game based around multiple factions of demons and space marines. And it's free-to-play.


Highwater

Highwater is an "adventure strategy game set in a world ravaged by extreme climate change". It will come out later this year.


Marvel's Midnight Suns

After getting pushed back, Marvel's Midnight Suns officially gets a release date - 7 October. And yes, Spider-Man is joining the team. You can read more details here.


Last of Us Part I

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann announced a standalone multiplayer game in the Last of Us universe, which will come out next year. On the other hand, the remake, Last of Us Part I is scheduled to launch on 2 September.


Layers of Fears

Another horror game. This one's made by the folks behind The Medium. Layers of Fears come with rats, specters, floating corpses, random fires, and an eerie mansion - made in Unreal 5.


Zenless Zone Zero


Honkai: Starrail

Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd's creator HoYoverse revealed two new titles: Zenless Zone Zero (an action RPG) and Honkai: Starrail (a strategy RPG).


Metal: Hellsinger

Metal: Hellsinger is a music-based rhythm shooter with a soundtrack full of metal royalty, including the team from System of a Down.


Other titles announced at Summer Game Fest are Neon White, Midnight Fight Express, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Shredder's Revenge, Nightingale, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, and more. You can watch the full presentation here.
