Disney+ to Launch a Cheaper Subscription Plan

Disney+ is offering a cheaper subscription from its current price of RM54.90 for 3 months, but with ads included.

The cheaper version is expected to arrive in the U.S. first later this year and will expand internationally in 2023. It may seem to be a good idea as more people will be able to afford a cheaper subscription and the platform can also gain revenues through the ads.

In fact, advertisers have been eager to work with the platform. Rita Ferro, President of Advertising, Disney media, and Entertainment Distribution said "Since its launch, advertisers have been clamoring for the opportunity to be part of Disney+ and not just because there’s a growing demand for more streaming inventory."

"Expanding access to Disney+ to a broader audience at a lower price point is a win for everyone - consumers, advertisers, and our storytellers," Kareem Daniel, Chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution added.
