The Epic Games Store is giving away indie game Cave Story+ this week.
The enhanced version of the critically-acclaimed puzzle-platformer sees the player character waking in a dark cave with amnesia. They find themselves helping the Mimigas, a species threatened by a scientist.
“Arguably the most well-known indie game of all time, Cave Story+ features an original story brimming with personality, mystery and fast-paced fun,” reads the store description. “Run, jump, shoot, fly and explore your way through a massive adventure reminiscent of classic 8 and 16-bit games!”
Cave Story was developed by one man, Daisuke Amaya, and released in 2004. 2011 saw the release of Cave Story+ on Steam and the release of a 3D remake called Cave Story 3D on the Nintendo 3DS.
If you’re interested, you can grab the game here. For next week’s freebies, Epic Games Store is giving away two notable Western RPGs in the form of Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition and Tyranny: Gold Edition.
