After EA's recent announcement of Battlefield getting a standalone release on mobile in 2022, the company is planning a beta test for the game this fall.
The beta version will begin with "a series of smaller playtests" involving players in Indonesia and the Philippines. On its community website, EA wrote, "As we continue with testing, we’ll expand the size of these tests, add new regions".
The first beta will only include a single Grand Bazaar map and the game's signature Conquest mode. There will be more maps and modes available closer to the game's official release.
The mobile version will be free to play and only include cosmetic items. EA confirmed that Battlefield Mobile will have its own Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and unlockables. As it's "built specially for mobile", it won't support crossplay between any console or PC versions.
Players who live in Indonesia or the Philippines can pre-register the game here.
