ARK 2 Has Been Delayed Until the End of 2024: Aiming to Use Unreal Engine 5 to its Full Potential

Referring to a post on the dinosaur survival game's official website, ARK 2 has been postponed until late 2024. While no specific release date for ARK: Survival Evolved 2 has been confirmed by Studio Wildcard, it is previously planned to release somewhere this year, which is not going to happen after all.

According to Studio WildCard, "After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the sequel's launch to the end of 2024, when it will still launch exclusively on Xbox, Game Pass, and Windows distribution platforms (Steam/PC)"

The challenges of using the relatively new Unreal Engine 5 are among the reasons for the delay, as the team requires more development time to learn about the new engines to accommodate this new paradigm.

Additionally, the devs will not release any gameplay and screenshots of ARK 2 this year. Instead, they also announced the revamp of ARK: Survival Evolved to ARK: Survival Ascended, which serves as a next-gen remaster of the game on Unreal Engine 5.

The base game will include The Island, ARK: Survival of The Fittest, and all "non-canon" DLC maps on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 by the end of August 2023. Players will be able to get the ARK Respawned Bundle which includes both ARK: Survival Ascended and ARK 2 and will be priced at $49.99 (~RM220)

More details of the ARK: Survival Ascended and ARK 2 can be found on the official website.
