Apple's Self Service Repair Store Releases a SIM Eject Tool for ~RM17

Writer's picture: OliviaOlivia

Remember when everyone felt ridiculed when Apple decided to sell its polishing cloth for RM99? Now, the company has a SIM eject tool for US$4, which is around RM17. No joke.

A few days ago, Apple launched the Self Service Repair website for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 users to "access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and repair manuals to perform your own out-of-warranty repair". To self-repair, they can buy tools from the Self Service Repair store, which offers a series of tools for battery, bottom speaker, camera, display, SIM tray, and taptic engine. The ridiculously priced ejector was spotted on the store under the SIM tray section.

The service is now available in the US and will expand to other countries in Europe later this year. We're not sure if Apple will roll out the Self Service Repair service and store in Malaysia, but if they do, will you spend RM17 for a SIM ejector?
