Asus has announced that the new Android 12 will come for the Zenfone 8 series starting this December, including Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip. The upgrade will be followed by the ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 5s series in the first quarter of 2022 as well as the Zenfone 7 series and ROG Phone 3 series in the first half of 2022. The models that will receive the upgrade are the Zenfone 7, Zenfone 7 Pro, ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, ROG Phone 5s, ROG Phone 5s Pro, ROG Phone 3, and ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition.
The update will come with major functional changes introduced in the official version of Android 12 and also continuing the ASUS battery- and performance-management features. For Zenfone models, there will be ZenUI-specific changes, which allow for easier navigation, streamlined control panels, increased visibility for better control, and more customisation options.
