AMD Announces New Ryzen 3000XT Processors for Enthusiasts

Writer: StephanieStephanie

Earlier today, AMD welcomed 3 new additions to the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen desktop processor family - the AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600XT, AMD Ryzen™ 7 3800XT and AMD Ryzen™ 9 3900XT processors.

This is the first appearance of the XT branding for Ryzen processors; the new expansion to the 3rd Gen Ryzen family is optimised to offer higher boost frequencies at the same TDP as their Ryzen 3000 series counterparts.

For example, the AMD Ryzen™ 9 3900XT offers up to 4% increase in single-threaded performance over AMD Ryzen™ 3000 desktop processors while being up to 40% more power efficient.

Apart from the new CPUs, AMD has also launched the new B550 and A520 chipsets. The B550 chipset provides PCIe 4.0 support while the A520 chipset provides Ryzen 3000 series compatibility out of the box.

The new chipsets are available worldwide immediately, while the new 3000XT series CPUs will arrive on 7 July.
