After revealing a slew of series based on video games, Netflix has officially wrapped up Geeked Week 2022 with the announcement of various new games coming to the platform. Here are all the new games announced.
Shadow and Bone: Destinies
Following the news of Shadow and Bone Season 2 on Day 1 of the event where we got to know that the second season had wrapped filming, Netflix confirms a new narrative RPG based on the series. The game is still in early development.
"Play as your favorite characters and journey across the world of the Grishaverse in a narrative adventure to fulfill their destinies. Along the way, you’ll need to make decisions that will determine the course of your journey."
Too Hot to Handle
Too Hot to Handle is a game based on Netflix's titular series where you "get ready to meet and mingle with a whole new cast of sexy singles vying for your affection". It will be available in 2023.
La Casa de Papel
La Casa de Papel has been a huge hit on Netflix since it first aired on the platform and it's no surprise to see the franchise getting its video game. This will be a single-player action-adventure game, where you will join the red jumpsuit squad to crack safes, pick locks and help rob a casino in Monaco.
The Queen's Gambit Chess
If you've watched the series, you'd have guessed what game we're getting here. Even if you haven't, it's pretty obvious based on the title, right? "Take some lessons, play puzzles and matches or compete against friends in this stunning love letter to the show. From players new to the game to chess masters, this immersive experience that pays homage to the award-winning drama has something for everyone."
Lucky Luna is a platformer based on Japanese folklore in which you "join Luna on a magical journey to the depths of hidden dungeons and mythical temples as she unlocks the mysteries of her past."
Desta: The Memories Between
Inspired by the game of dodgeball, Desta: The Memories Between is a turn-based strategy game developed by the team behind Monument Valley. "Overcome broken relationships and a tragic family event, all through the medium of a surreal and exciting ball game."
Reigns: Three Kingdoms
Following the epic Chinese saga, Reigns: Three Kingdoms is set in the Han dynasty where you will encounter factions, wars, and heroes of the saga. "Discover new ways to enjoy Reigns’ unique swiping mechanic as you uncover the many secrets of a vast storyline and a host of unexpected mini-games."
Created by Devolver Digital, Terra Nil is a "strategy city-building game with an emphasis on the climate crisis". Use technology to rejuvenate barren wastelands, then recycle all the structures you used to do it, leaving nothing behind but pristine wilderness. The game is set for PC release in the future too.
Also by Devolver Digital, Poinpy is a vertical climber game. Go as high as you can and you'll unlock new abilities to help your next jump. Poinpy is now available on Netflix Games.
Wild Things: Animal Adventures
Rescue adorable animals as you solve the match-3 puzzles and help them restore their habitats, ranging from lush forests to tropical islands to icy terrains.
Raji: An Ancient Epic
Raji: An Ancient Epic is an upcoming Indian action-adventure game where you're put in the shoes of Raji, "the young orphan chosen by the gods to stand against the demonic invasion, as she tries to rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura."
Thunder Lotus Games' management game is making its way to Netflix. You'll play as Stella, a Spiritfarer and ferrymaster to the deceased. Explore the world and make friends with spirits before releasing them to the afterlife. You can farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft to create lasting memories together.
