Creative Assembly’s horror title Alien: Isolation is free on Epic Games Store this week, alongside dungeon crawler Hand of Fate 2.
A first-person stealth horror game, 2014’s Alien: Isolation follows Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the movies’ Ellen Ripley. Set fifteen years after Ellen left Earth, the story sees Amanda learning of the recovery of the flight recorder from Ellen’s ship. Amanda heads to the Sevastopol space station for answers, only to encounter the Xenomorph.
As for 2017’s Hand of Fate 2, the RPG offers a combination of dungeon crawling and deck-building, with the player facing off against the mysterious Dealer who has returned for revenge. “As in the original Hand of Fate, adventurers explore a dark fantasy world built from collectible cards distributed by a magical dealer in a meta boardgame,” explains the game’s website. “Each overturned card reveals a new trial: third-person combat, high-risk high-reward minigames or Tabletop RPG-style decision making.”
